TIABELE

A physician-curated beauty destination for African and Diaspora-led beauty. Every brand here has earned its place.

Why We Exist

Tiabele was built from a conviction: African and Diaspora-led beauty brands deserved a platform with a genuine standard — not a seasonal spotlight, not a filtered subcategory, but a beauty destination built around them from the start.

Founded by Dr. Maame Sampah, MD, PhD — a Johns Hopkins-trained physician-scientist and inflammation researcher — Tiabele brings together brands rooted in African botanical tradition, selected against a physician's standard for ingredient integrity and safety. Every brand here is evaluated through a clinical lens. What earns a place works. What doesn't, doesn't come in — regardless of how much it trends. African botanicals have nourished skin for centuries. Shea, moringa, baobab — and the other botanicals you'll find throughout Tiabele — are world-class skincare ingredients. Africa has known this for centuries. The rest of the world is still discovering it.

Tiabele is for every skin type, every tone, everywhere.

Your ritual starts here.

What You Will Find at Tiabele

Physician-led Curation

Every product at Tiabele is selected by a physician who evaluates ingredient integrity, safety profile, and scientific plausibility against current evidence. What meets the standard comes in. What doesn't, doesn't — regardless of packaging, pricing, or trend.

African and Diaspora-led brands

Bamboi, made in Ghana with unrefined Ghanaian shea. Nokware, rooted in West African botanicals. Urban Skin Rx, co-founded by an African American physician. Black Girl Sunscreen, built for the skin the mainstream SPF market underserved. Alaffia, produced by women-led cooperatives in Togo. Every founder here built something real.

Ingredients with integrity

No sulfates. No parabens. No greenwashing. Every ingredient has to earn its place. If the science isn't there, neither is the product.

What Makes Tiabele Different

African botanical tradition is one of the most extraordinary and underutilized resources in skincare.

Shea from the Sahel.
Baobab from across the continent.
Moringa, neem, black soap — ingredients with centuries of proven use and a growing body of scientific evidence to match.

We are only beginning to understand what Africa has always known.

Tiabele exists to bring the best of it to you — curated by a physician with the training to evaluate it, the cultural roots to understand it, and the conviction that what comes from Africa belongs in every bathroom in the world.

There is more to discover.
We are finding it.
